Lawyers representing the House of Representatives have admitted detaining NSA Assistant Director for Cyber Crime and Intelligence, Joseph Brown wrongfully at the Monrovia Central Prison without due process.
The lawmakers’ lawyer Cllr. Albert Sims according to Freedom FM Judicial Correspondent confessed judgment during Monday’s legal conference with Associate Justice Joseph Nagbe surrounding Cllr. Arthur Johnson’s petition for a Writ of Prohibition consistent with Chapter 16, Section 16.21 of the Judiciary Law of Liberia.
Cllr. Sims’ admission on behalf of the House Speaker Bhofal Chamber means that the matter is moot and Director Brown will remain with his lawyer until the police can conclude its investigation in connection with the dissemination of nude video of a teenage girl on the social media.
Director Brown’s detention was triggered by a communication from Montserrado County District-4 Representative Rustorlyn Dennis to the plenary.
Representative Dennis’s communication accused the NSA Assistant Director for Cyber Crime and Intelligence Joseph Brown of reportedly disseminating a nude video on social media where a teenage girl and adult were having oral sex.
