The Chief Executive Officer of Liberian second division side Tony FC Anthony Deinuka has donated five new Sony recorders to the Sports Writer Association of Liberia, SWAL.
The media accessories which were donated on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, value over $ 85, 000 Liberian Dollars.
Making the donation to the sports writing body, the Tony FC Chief Executive Anthony Deinuka, said the donation is intended to promote the sports writing body in the country.
Mr. Deinuka said the donation is his way of not only promoting sports but helping to develop the minds of the young people in the country.
He at the same time praised the Sports Writer Association of Liberia for their continued massive support to the growth of football in Liberia, stressing the need for support for the organization.
He further emphasized the important role Sports Journalists play in promoting players, administrators, and the football house, hence calling on all stakeholders to extend a hand to SWAL.
“We understand how SWAL has contributed to football development, but we also know the challenge that sports Journalists go through”
“I believe we as stakeholders must ensure that SWAL gets the necessary support so that its members can help to sell our players, clubs, and league,” Deinuka said.
Receiving the donation, the President of the Sports Writer Association of Liberia, Kolubah Zayzay, praised the Tony FC boss for the gesture toward SWAL.
Mr. Zayzay said SWAL was overwhelmed by the gesture from Deinuka and assured that the donation will be used for its intended purpose.
He at the same time described the donation as timely and wonderful and urged him to continue supporting SWAL for the betterment of promoting the growth of sports in the country.
“Mr.Deinuka we are indeed grateful for this donation and it has come at a time we want to empower our members”
“We also want to call on other stakeholders to do the same,” Mr.Zayzay said.
