Civil Servants Association of Liberia President Moibah Johnson has disclosed that the Association is impressed with the level of transformation currently taking place at the National fisheries and Aquaculture Authority.
Speaking over the weekend, during a program held in honor of NAFAA Director General Emma Glassco, Johnson lauded the administration for adding value to the fishery sector.
The CSAL President described the sector as vital to the development of Liberia and requires the leadership of a visionary like Madam Glassco who can make the necessary change in the fishery sector.
Moibah Johnson also used the occasion to urge other Government officials to emulate the example of the team at NAFAA, to ensure national growth and development.
For her part, Madam Glassco reiterated her administration’s commitment to ensure that the sector achieves its goals, through revenue generation, building the capacity of Fishermen among others.
The National Fisheries and Aqua Culture Culture Authority Director-General also stated that the fisheries sector is still untapped as there are more investment opportunities to be explored.
She revealed that the government of Liberia through NaFAA will shortly receive “over 500 pieces of Yamaha outboard motor engines as a gift from the People of Japan for artisanal fishermen.
