The Civil Law Court has issued a writ of summon for Ex-LURD General Oforee Diah surrounding a $99,000 United States dollars truck that is believed to be for Madam Lucretia Turnquist.
Madam Turnquist’s legal team ten counts petition according to our Judicial Correspondent said she is the owner of a 2019 Homo Sing truck, purchased on June 19, at the value of $65,000 US dollars, from Evergreen Import and Export, a Liberian company.
The truck was purchased through Atty. Roosevelt Gould and after the purchase; Atty. Gould traveled to South Africa for studies, therefore to keep the truck has been a problem until her arrival in Liberia.
Defendant Oforee Diah was contacted because he was a friend to the complainant’s daughter, and later took delivery of the truck to his house for safekeeping.
After some time, defendant Diah then demanded, that she take delivery of the truck, for fear that parts would be missing, but when they went to collect the truck, it was nowhere to be found, and he refused to say where the truck was.
Madam Turnquist immediately informed the police where Oforee Diah was arrested in the Thinkers Village area, and the truck was discovered sold and registered in the name of a new buyer, thus causing her to incur more losses.
Due to the financial damage, Madam Lucretia Turnquist is demanding $99,000 Unite States dollars for the lost truck, while in possession of defendant Oforee Diah couple with assessment and repair works and $50,000 United States dollars as punitive damages to serve as deterrence against future occurrence.
Our Correspondent further said though it remains unclear as to whether Madam Lucretia Turnquist is the mother to fugitive Ellen Corkrum, the Civil Law court has order defendant Oforee Diah to respond on or before September 10, and that upon his failure judgment by default will be rendered against him.
