Judge Ousman Feika has found defendant Johnny Hill alias Junior Hill guilty for the criminal conveyance of land following a month-long legal battle at Criminal Court ‘C’.
Judge Feika’s verdict has ordered defendant Hill to restitute the amount of Thirty-Two Thousand United States Dollars to the private prosecutor Peter Bordolo for the two acres of land that he sole.
The Court’s October 8, the verdict means that the weight of evidence adduced during the trial by prosecuting lawyers led by Cllr. Bobby Livingstone was convincing to convict defendant Johnny Hill for the criminal conveyance of land.
But, Defendant Hill took exception to Judge Ousman Feika’s ruling saying his ruling is biased.
Our Judicial Correspondent further revealed that this is the second time the defendant has been convicted for the criminal conveyance of land after he was trialed on three separate occasions at Criminal Court ‘C’ for the same offenses.
Meanwhile, the Court has placed a hold on defendant Johnny Hill’s sentence pending his pre-sentence investigation report from the Probation Office of Montserrado County consistent with Chapter 31, Section 31.5 of the Criminal Procedure Law of Liberia.
