Aggrieved students of Harbel College in Margibi County, have been calling for the immediate dismissal of the college’s President Dr. Syrulwa Somah.
Dr. Somah was appointed President of the college during the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf administration and has since come under series of criticism from the students’ populace since his six years of administration.
In a Press conference issued Friday, in Harbel, Margibi County, the aggrieved students through their spokesperson Philip Webo, said Dr. Somah has refused to improve the college developmental status, on claims of being underfunded.
Philip Webo said it was unfortunate that Dr. Somah will continue to make such a statement when the government continues to fund the college.
They are also concerned, why the institution continues to run without vice presidents.
The aggrieved student wants the National Commission on Higher Education to ensure that projects Dr. Somah have failed to complete the ongoing project, including the provision of electricity on campus, which they said have kept the college underdeveloped over the years.
They raised disappointment in Dr. Somah for refusing to work with the current students’ leadership on campus; as such he must be dismissed.
Meanwhile, all efforts to get Dr. Somah did not materialize as his Orange and Lonestar Cell MTN Contacts remain switch-off up to press time.
