Philadelphia Lonestar Football Club Kolako Johnson has completed a loan move to the Liberia First Division League with Monrovia Club Breweries until the end of August 2022
According to Johnson local Manager Abel G . Thomas, the loan deal is with an option to extend or purchase.
The 17-year-old asked Philadelphia Lonestar to let him leave on loan earlier this month after helping the team returned to the 3rd division league in Montserrado County, having made several appearances in all competition in the 2020-2021 season.
As was previously reported by Liberian Sports International (LSI), Johnson arrived on Bushrod Island on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. The midfielder then signed his contract and post for his official photos on Thursday, also taking the chance to get to know his new club’s facilities.
Francis Sarploh is “excited” to add Kolako to the Club Beer squad until the end of August 2022.
“It’s great that we’ve secured Johnson to come to us until the end of the season,” Berewries head coach Francis said.
“Johnson is a player that we all know very well and although he is still young, he has been playing regularly with Philadelphia.
“He will provide us with options in attack and we are all excited to be integrating him into our plans for the new league season.
Speaking to the Freedom News, the 17-year-old said Benjamin Sackor, Marvin Blapoh, and among others who are all senior players on the team played a big role in making him to joined the Bushrod Island Club.
“Yes, Marvin Blapoh texted me the other day and he had only good thing to say about the club, the manager, and everything,” he said.
“That was also important for me and he was happy for me to come here, so that was a good thing for me, to know someone here and to hear from someone inside the club as well. It’s good. I’m just so excited and I am happy to have the chance to come here, I felt like it is a really good chance to take. So I’m really happy to be here.”
