
Ex-defense Minister Brownie Samukai has finally paid his 50% portion of the AFL Soldiers’ pension money to Criminal Court ‘C’.
Samukai’s lawyers along with some citizens of Lofa County Thursday according to Freedom FM Judicial Correspondent paid One Hundred, Seventy-Three Thousand, Two Hundred & Seventy-Six United States Dollars, constituting 50% of his portion of the half a Million United States Dollars.
The amount in question has constituted 50% of his portion in connection with the half a million United States Dollars as mandated by the Supreme Court’s February 8, 2021 judgment surrounding the Soldiers’ funds.
His two deputies, Joseph Johnson and Nyumah Dorbor are yet to make any payment since the Supreme Court affirmed the Subordinate Court’s conviction judgment.
Our Judicial Correspondent further said Samukai’s August 19, 50% payment come at a time when his legal team has redirected his prior application for enlargement of time to the Supreme Court for litigation.
