The Liberia Returnee Network in collaboration with the Buduburam Veterans Association and the Ministerial Council of Churches of the Buduburam Refugee Camp in Ghana has expressed dismay over the situation confronting Liberian citizens residing on the Buduburam Camp in Ghana.
Liberians on the Buduburam Camp have been issued an ultimatum to vacate the Camp on September 30 this year, or risk eviction from local authorities.
But, the Executive Director of the Liberia Returnee Network, Tyronne Marshall is calling on the Ghanaian Government to prevail on local authorities in the Gomoa district to extend the time.
Speaking over the weekend in Monrovia, Marshall lamented that the situation facing Liberians on the Buduburam Camp is saddened, and requires urgent attention.
He called on the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, the Liberian Government, and other actors to ensure the safety of Liberians on the Camp.
The Liberia Returnee Network Executive Director also stated that any attempt to delay intervention into the situation facing Liberians in Ghana will result in other actions.
