
The Management of Sethi Femo Fabrik steel manufacturing plant has express dismay over a recent industrial accident at its facility, resulting in the death of an employee and injuring six others.
It can be recorded on August 18, a production machine exploded and resulted in seven employees of the company sustaining an injury from the ‘furnace’ used to melt steel.
According to a release from the Sethi Femo Fabrik, Steel Manufacture said the accident is unforeseen e despite all the safety protocols been put in place to observe to prevent such occurrence.
The release further quoted the management that since the blast of the furnace that led to four Liberians and three expatriates to survey injury the management has taken two of the employee who suavely injury to Ghana for proper treatment.
The release also quoted the management that expresses it’s unfortunate that one of the expatriates, who is identified as Achchhe Lal Chauhan died as a result of the accident.
The release also added that the management is keeping the families of the victims abreast of their progress and is standing with them in this difficult time.
The release says that preliminary investigation show reports and eyewitness accounts indicate that the blast resulted when the crane used to grab and load scrap metals from the ground picked up and loaded scrap metal in the induction furnace.
The Management of Sethi Ferro Fabrik Inc. reiterated that the ongoing investigation will be detailed and it is not only intended to find the root cause of this accident but at the same time to identify other potential risks and enhance Fisk mitigation protocols at the factory so that such unfortunate event does not occur in future.
