Days After reports emerged from Margibi County that the senior pastor of the Philadelphia church in Kakata allegedly raping a 21-year -old pregnant woman, the journalist that broke the story of fear treats on their lives by some unscrupulous individuals.
Speaking in a news conference today August 23, 2021, the president of the Margibi County Journalist Association Emmanuel Dekleah said a journalist from Margibi County is receiving threats on their lives for blowing the rape allegation out to the public by individuals believing to be supporters of the clear man.
He further stated that the nurse that did the examination on the victim is receiving threats on her life and that of a journalist of the county for reporting such a denigrating story on Pastor Franklin Snorton.
Dekleah call on the Press Union of Liberia and the Liberia National Police to take serge of the situation as their lives is in danger.
Meanwhile speaking to Freedom FM from the Secretary-General of the Reporters Association of Liberia Mark Mengonfia said individuals that are rendering treats on journalists should stop.
He said the Reporters Association of Liberia and that of the Press Union of Liberia are following the incident closely and all necessary intervention will be made consistent with the law.
