Criminal Court ‘C’ Presiding Judge Ousman Feika Thursday set aside the criminal appearance bonds for GT-Bank General Manager and his deputies for alleged bail-jumping and later instructed the Sheriff to arrest them.
Judge Feika’s September 2, the action comes when prosecuting lawyers’ prayed the Court to arrange the defendants to ascertain their pleas in connection with the crime consistent with Chapter 14, Section 14.7 of the Criminal Procedure Law of Liberia.
Interestingly the indictees’ lawyers informed the Court that his clients were out of the bailiwick of the Country, without notice to the Court despite being indicted by the Court.
Judge Feika claimed the failure of the indictees to give notices to the Court before leaving the country, is an affront and disrespect to the court, adding that their activities have amounted to bail jumping and their bond was revoked consistent with the law.
Our Judicial Correspondent further revealed that Court Officers backed with armed police are currently seeking the arrest of the GT Bank-Officials.
