
Market women across the country are expected to benefit from a 2million United States dollars loan scheme from the government.
Making the disclosure at the Ministry of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism regular Press Briefing Thursday, the Executive Director of the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment, Pepci Yekeh said the loan scheme is aimed at improving businesses for economic empowerment.
He added that the President is committed to the development of the country, and the empowerment of citizens, and is expected to construct over 41 additional market structures across the country.
According to the LACE Executive Director, the Liberian Leader will also construct over 30 new cities & Town halls and will electrify over 50 cities & towns with solar streetlights among others.
Meanwhile, Director Yekeh further that to strengthen farmers’ capacity, President Weah has secured funding from partners in the amount of $16 million United States dollars to support rural farmers to improve their productivity.
He noted that the Liberian Leader is committed to constructing over 40 different rural roads, bridges as well as the layout and pave capital cities of various counties.
