The National Elections Commission has finally issued a writ declaring Tuesday, November 16, 2021as the official date for the conduct of by-elections in the Country.
Making the disclosure Monday in Monrovia, the Chairperson of the National Elections Commission Cllr. Davidetta Browne Lassana stated that following months of advocating for funding, the Ministry of Finance provided $1.7 million United States dollars for the conduct of the by-elections.
Commissioner Browne Lassana admonished the Magistrates who will preside in the Counties of the elections, to uphold the tenets of the writ, and to be responsible and uphold the image of the National Elections Commission during the conduct of the by-elections.
She added that the conduct of the bi-elections is in keeping with the legal command and consistent with joint resolution (002), of 2021.
The bi-elections will be conducted in Bong County, district #2, Bomi County, district #1, Grand Gedeh County, district #1, and Nimba County, district #1.
