Authorities of the Liberia National Police have refuted reports of ritualistic killings across the Country.
Police Inspector General Patrick Sudue making the disclosure Wednesday on State Radio, said the Police are only aware of a single ritualistic killing incident that occurred in Mary Land County recently, and the perpetrators are facing justice.
According to Inspector General Sudue, many of the social media pictorials and videos are not a representation of what is unfolding in the Country as being portrayed.
He described those involved in spreading such misinformation as unscrupulous individuals who are bent on tarnishing the reputation of the Country.
The Police Inspector General warned those involved in orchestrating a negative image of the Country to desist, or will face the full weight of the law.
Meanwhile, Inspector General Sudue has accused opposition Politicians of masterminding and misinforming the public to create panic and fear in the Country, and to create a negative image of the country abroad.
He referenced Peoples Liberation Party Secretary-General David Beyan’s situation when he alleged that he was shot by unknown gunmen, but Police Investigation found out that he shot himself.
At the same time, Inspector General Sudue has disclosed that the LNP has increased its patrols in major streets and Communities, and has begun vigorous search and inspection operations to combat crimes in the Country.
According to him, the LNP will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the country is stable and peaceful and that citizens are protected.
