The National Health Workers Union of Liberia has inducted its new corps of officials who will steer the affairs of the Union for the next couple of years.
Speaking during the induction ceremony held over the weekend in Paynesville, the newly inducted president of the Union Jerry Kollie lauded his colleagues for the confidence reposed in them to serve the Union.
Kollie also lamented that it is unfair for health workers to be amongst the least paid in the country, as he promised his leadership commitment to working in the interest of all health workers in the Country.
For his part, the keynote speaker at the induction ceremony Fokpah Gizzie identified the Government’s interference, the inability of health care workers to hold together among other challenges facing the health sector of the Country.
Gizzie however called on health workers to hold together if their living conditions must be transformed.
