
The Africa Environmental WATCH Executive Director Dr. Morris Koffa has alarmed over the current state of Liberia’s environment.
Speaking Tuesday at a Joint Press Conference in Monrovia, Dr. Koffa said the Country’s solid waste management problems are an age-old issue that needs to be tackled under the Weah-Administration.
Dr. Koffa who is an expert in environmental study, said his organization and other environmental organizations are in Liberia to provide expertise on Climate change and environmental pollution, especially the control of solid waste management.
Meanwhile, Dr. Koffa has lauded President Weah for his deliberations at the COP26 summit in Glasgow, the United Kingdom.
He said the speech of the Liberian Leader calling for more budgetary support to Africa in the fight against Climate Change is in the right direction.
In a similar development, Press Union of Liberia President Charles Coffey says the media has a crucial role to play when it comes to environmental challenges in the country.
Speaking Tuesday at the headquarters of the Union in Monrovia, Coffey called on all media institutions to engage in more awareness and provide education on the issue of environmental pollution to citizens.
According to Coffey, now is the time for Liberia to deliver on some of the international demands surrounding sensitive climate issues.
Coffey also stressed the need for the media to provide more analyses on the issue of environmental pollution in the country.
At the same time, the Press Union of Liberia President has lauded the chairperson of the Citizens Engagement Board Madam Mary Broh for the level of work done to clean the city of Monrovia, since her appointment ahead of the Bicentennial and Christmas celebrations.
