The Civil Law Court on Friday placed a preliminary injunction on the pending National Convention of the opposition Liberty Party.
The Liberty Party is currently in a crisis with two different factions.
The Party suspended Political Leader Senator Nyonblee Karngar Lawrence is heading a faction of the Party, while the embattled Chairman Musa Bility is heading the other.
Senator Karngar Lawrence recently held a press conference, nullifying the Party’s January 2021 convention outcome, returning the party to status quo ante.
But, embattled Chairman Bility has maintained that he is the legitimate Chairman of the Party, and was taking the party to the convention.
However, the Civil Law Court “B” through a writ of the preliminary injunction as prayed for by petitioners Lawyer Emmanuel Azango Friday ordered Respondent Musa Bility to halt all activities planned in the name of the Liberty Party, pending proceeding.
The Respondents are ordered to file an answer to the Court before December 27.
