
Information Minister Ledgerhood Rennie has termed as shameless, ridiculous, and irresponsible, claimed by the Political Leader of the Opposition Alternative National Congress Alexander Cummings that the government is playing a role in the opposition political wrangling.
Speaking at the Ministry of Information Culture Affairs and Tourism press briefing Thursday, Minister Rennie said it beats his imagination to see a prominent individual, who is opting for the Nation’s highest seat to engage in misleading Liberians.
He is concerned whether it is the same government who forged the document leading to the political arrangement or marriage for which the case is now at the court.
According to him, the political marriage from the onset was characterized by deceit, which he said will never yield any results.
Minister Rennie stressed that despite political differences, it was equally important that Liberians be responsible for telling the truth to the Nation and its people.
At the same time, Minister Rennie has condemned Presidential hopeful Cllr. Taiwan Gongloe’s assertion that the government scores “F”.
According to him, it was shameful that Gongloe would grade government performance as low when it was the same government that he beg for money to run a program.
In another development, Minister Rennie, chairman of the Bicentennial Steering Committee says, all is now set for Friday, January 7, a celebration of the bicentennial celebration.
Addressing the Ministry of Information Cultural Affairs and Tourism regular press briefing Thursday in Monrovia, Minister Rennie said President George Weah will serve as keynote speaker at the event.
According to Minister Rennie, there will be a cultural festival and the dress code for the event is African attire.
He said Liberians should see the bicentennial celebration as the way of unifying, despite all the political disagreements.
Meanwhile, Minister Rennie lamented that the celebration will begin12 at Noon, urging all invited guests to be seated not later than 11:45 AM.
