
The Head of Accountability Lab Lawrence Yealue has raised concern over why the 2022 National Budget has allocated half a million United States Dollars as captured under the Ministry of State, for the invincible Park Project when President George Weah has repeatedly stated that the project is his personal initiative.
Speaking Wednesday in Sinkor, Yealue stressed that if it is the President’s personal project, it should not be capture captured in the National budget.
He termed it as frustrating and disappointing that members of the National Legislature allowed such key Instrument to slip under their wings without making the needed corrections.
Yealue however commended President Weah for the project but wants further clarity to be made for future reference.
He at the same time said it was time, that Civil Society actors request government officials, including President Weah to set the right example and be accountable to their people.
Mr. Yealue also raised concern over the budget indicated three different allocations for the same Invincible Park Project.
Meanwhile, President George Weah during his recent regular inspection tour of the project site emphasized that the invincible park project is his personal initiative intended to give back to his people.
