
About 10 employees from various government institutions risk 14 days imprisonment at the Monrovia Central Prison this Monday for allegedly refusing to appear at Criminal Court ‘A’ for jurors’ duty as provided by Chapter 18, Section 18.6 of the New Jury Law of Liberia.
The employees are Berly Wollie and Haysay Duworko from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Yancy Horton, Emmanuel David, and Dolly Davis of the General Auditing Commission while John Nimely Aklayyiah Andrew, Bennie Karmo, John Teah, and Ayesha Sayon of the Liberia Land Authority, Public Work, LISGIS and Ministry of Health respectively.
Judge Roosevelt Willie according to our Judicial correspondence, has since mandated the Sheriff of Court to arrest the 10 employees in question to compel their appearance in Court this Monday regarding their alleged action.
Our Correspondent further disclosed that is the second time the Court is seeking the arrest of some employees from various government institutions after Madam Beatrice Geweh of the Ministry Foreign was arrested last month for the same action.
