Pharmacists across Montserrado County, early Monday staged a peaceful protest in front of the Executive Mansion over what they term as salary disparity.
Addressing reporters Monday, at the protest scene the spokesperson of the group Dr. George Sorbor said their action is intended to draw President Weah’s attention to the lack of welfare, salary disparity, and other benefits for pharmacists across the country.
He stated that Pharmacists deserve better salaries and other incentives, adding, it is unfair for Pharmacists across the country to be denied deserving salaries and benefits.
Dr. Sorbor the voices of Pharmacists have been denied by the authority of the Ministry of Health, as such, they are calling on President Weah to quickly act on their behalf.
According to Dr. Sorbor, they have engaged authorities of the Ministry of Health, Civil Service Agency, and the Ministry of Financial but there have been no addresses.
Dr. Sorbor however, threatened that they will continue protest until modalities are worked on by the government in finding redress to their plight.
