
Liberia Security Except, Momo Cyrus has been officially certificated by the National Elections Commission as a candidate for the ensuing May 10, by-election in Lofa County.
Cyrus’ certification comes ahead of the Opposition Unity Party nominated candidate, Galakpa Kortaimah, as political momentum continues to heat up in that part of Liberia, aimed at filling the gap created by the inability of former Defense Minister Brownie Samukai to serve the senate.
Following his approval by the NEC, Mr. Cyrus promised to deliver the county from its current underdeveloped stage to a developed one.
He among other things assures Lofians that he will lobby with a colleague at the Senate to bring back a commercial bank to the County if elected.
According to him, the lack of a commercial bank in Lofa County is posing a challenge to citizens who have to go to nearby counties to carry out bank transactions.
Additionally, he named the inclusion of investment in the County, youth empowerment, and road connectivity as key areas of interest he sees necessary for transformation in Lofa County.
Meanwhile, a group calling itself “One Lofa Movement” comprising dominant young people in the County has at the same time pledged its support for the Senatorial bid of Momo Cyrus.
According to the group, it is galvanizing support from across the County to ensure Mr. Cyrus becomes the next Senator of Lofa County.

As the political momentum for the Senatorial seat in Lofa County continues to increase especially with the number of key individuals and groups pledging their support to various candidates in the country, the National Elections Commission has officially certificated Momo Cyrus as a candidate for the ensuing May 10, 2022 by-election in Lofa County.
The move many Lofians termed a great boost for his political ambition.
In his statement released over the weekend, Mr. Cyrus promised to deliver the County from darkness to Light.
Among other things, he assured Lofians that he will through his lobbying process from the Senate, if elected bring a commercial bank back to the County something that has been there but later left for some time and has been a serious challenge to the people of Lofa County.
Additionally, he named the inclusion of investment in the County, youth empowerment, and road connectivity as key areas of interest to ensure that he helps transform his beloved County.
He indicated that he intends is to build a very strong team that will be the bridge between all regardless of any divide while unity, reconciliation, agriculture, and total development, will be achievable under his political watch.
Meanwhile, a group calling itself “One Lofa Movement” comprising dominant young people in the County has pledged their support for the Senatorial bid of Momo Cyrus.
According to reports, the energetic young people of the County are robustly and in a voluntary manner and form galvanizing support from across the County and among their peers including cross-session of Lofians in a drive to ensure that their dream of making Mr. Cyrus a Senator of Lofa County becomes a reality.
