Trial jurors of Criminal Court ‘C’ have found Global Bank Liberia Limited guilty of over 3.4 Million United States Dollars from Kailondo Petroleum Company.
Eleven of the twenty penal jurors Thursday adjudged the bank guilty, while the head of the penal distanced herself from her colleagues’ verdict with an acquittal verdict.
The majority of jurors’ verdict claimed the weight of the evidence adduced in Court by prosecuting lawyers led by Cllr. Jerry Garlawolu was convincing to convict the bank for theft of property and misapplication of entrusted property.
But, defense lawyers headed by Cllr. Jimmy Bombo took exception to the jurors’ verdict and is waiting for Judge Ciapha Carey’s final judgment within five days consistent with the law.
In a related development, Criminal Court ‘C’ is expected to entertain legal argument this Friday in the case involving the GT Bank Liberia Limited and Kailondo Petroleum Incorporated.
Cllr. George Kailondo is prosecuting the Bank for allegedly stealing over 900,000 United States Dollars from his Petroleum Company’s counts with the bank.
