Supreme Court Grants Petition by Liberty Party Chairman But…
The Presiding Justice in Chamber at the Supreme Court has granted Liberty Party Chairman Musa Bility’s petition.
Bility’s application was seeking to overturn the National Elections Commission Board of Commissioners in connection to his Party’s internal conflict with the Party’s expelled political Leader, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence.
Associate Justice Yussif Tuesday ruled that the National Election Commission (NEC) Board Commissioners were in error when to reopen the Liberty Party internal case after the Commission has passed on the matter.
Justice Kaba’s January 17, decision according to our Judicial Correspondent granted the peremptory writ of certiorari in favor of Chairman Bility, as provided by Chapter 16, Section 16.22 of the Civil Procedure Law of Liberia. Our Judicial Correspondent further revealed that following Justice Kabba’s decision, Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence’s legal team announced an appeal to the full bench thereby placing a stay order on Justice Kabbas’s decision as provided by law.
