
The Monrovia City Court has sent to jail a 21-Year-Old man for allegedly shooting his girlfriend with a single-barrel pistol at her parent’s residence in the Soul Clinic Community.
Suspect Liston Yekeh along with his girlfriend Samelia Fuller and others left their Soul Clinic community area for the celebration of New Year’s Day and then returned to her parent’s home.
Liston according to our Judicial Correspondent reportedly admitted during police investigations having the single barrel short pistol in his possession that fired and caused the death of his girlfriend but claimed it was a mistake.
He told police that after spending some time at a nightclub in the Soul community called YES, they decided to return home where he requested for his belongings to go home were given to him by the deceased sister.
Having received his things in the midst of everyone, he took the pistol which brought fear to his friend but decided to open the gun to show to his friends that there were no rounds in the gun, and in the process, the gun fired and hit his girlfriend who was standing in his direct opposite.
His girlfriend was immediately placed on a bike and rushed to Benson hospital, but was referred to JFK where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Our Judicial Correspondent further said that it was established that there was no misunderstanding between the pair, prior to the incident as they were always seen together in the community.
He was charged with manslaughter.
